Our firm has resolved in excess of 100 claims for clients throughout Northwest Florida in the aftermath of prior hurricanes. Representative experience includes the following:
- Represented 64-unit beachfront condominium on Perdido Key in post-Ivan dispute with insurers regarding whether damage resulted from wind or flood; successfully resolved case for policy limits for both flood and wind prior to trial.
- Represented Gulf Breeze beachfront homeowners in Ivan wind claim and bad-faith claim securing policy limits for wind damage in summary judgment as well as significant bad-faith damages in mediation
- Represented Pensacola family in their home and business (printing company) Ivan claims, securing all structure and contents damages to which homeowners were entitled, as well as all property damages and business interruption damages for which the business was entitled.
- Successfully represented insureds in insurance company appeals of Ivan claim wins. See, e.g., Vanguard Fire and Casualty Ins. Co. v. Bogan, 946 So. 2d 1286 (Fla. 1st DCA 2007); Citizens Property Ins. Corp. v. Swinson, 952 So. 2d 617 (Fla. 1st DCA 2007); Qualsure Ins. Corp v. Diaz, 1 So. 3d 182 (Fla. 1st DCA 2009). Many other claims were paid by the insurance companies after they filed their appeals but before costs were incurred in prosecuting the appeals.
Hurricane Michael was an unprecedented storm that caused unprecedented damage in Bay County and surrounding areas.
