Terrie L. Didier
Ms. Didier has been a partner in the firm since January 2005. She is manager of the firm’s appellate practice group. She handles both state and federal appeals. Ms. Didier gained valuable insight into the workings of Florida’s appellate court system while serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Peter D. Webster of Florida’s First District Court of Appeal for nine years before joining Beggs & Lane in July of 2002. This appellate court experience helped form the basis for her approach to handling appeals, as well as civil cases. Ms. Didier does not focus solely on the strength in her client’s case, but she is prepared to address and defeat arguments about any weaknesses the opposition may assert in her client’s case. A thorough understanding of the facts, the law, and application of the law to a particular set of facts is critical.
She is a member of the firm’s litigation group. Her primary focus is on insurance litigation representing homeowners and businesses in the wake of hurricanes, fires, sinkholes, and other disasters. She represented numerous homeowners, homeowner associations, and businesses during Hurricanes Ivan, Dennis, Michael, and Sally securing not only millions of dollars in contract damages but also bad faith damages. Ms. Didier assists other members of the firm, as well as colleagues outside the firm, in a trial support capacity writing dispositive motions and memoranda and conferring regarding potential appellate issues.
